Guard Mode, Clean Mode, knocks, break reminders and the shortcut cheat sheet.
- Guard Mode: an alarm if someone moves your MacGuard Mode sounds a loud alarm if your MacBook is lifted or its charger is pulled while you're away. Here is how to turn it on, stop it, and its limits.
- Clean Mode: lock your keyboard to wipe itClean Mode holds the keyboard and trackpad for 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes so you can wipe them. Hold Esc for 2 seconds to stop early.
- Knock commands: play, pause and mute by knockingKnock your MacBook twice or three times to play or pause music, mute your mic in a call or lock the screen. Knock commands are off until you turn them on.
- Break reminders and typing strain warningsBreak buddy suggests a stretch after 30, 50 or 90 minutes of work. On MacBooks with a motion sensor, Tell me when I type hard warns you to go easy.

Troubleshooting
No sound, permissions, updates and removing TapNoise.
- No sound when I type? Check these firstIf TapNoise is silent, check the Sounds switch, Input Monitoring, your license, Quiet during calls and the volume. The menu shows which one.
- TapNoise is not in Input MonitoringTapNoise isn't listed under Input Monitoring? Click Open Input Monitoring in the menu so macOS adds it, switch it on, and open the copy in Applications.
- How to check for a new TapNoise updateTapNoise looks for a newer version about once a day. When one is out, the menu shows Download TapNoise with its version. Here is how to get it.
