TapNoise needs a license key before it unlocks. There’s no account to create. Your key is all you need.
Find your key
Your key is in the receipt email from Dodo Payments, sent the moment you buy. Search your inbox for it, or see find your license key again.
Activate it
- Click the keycap in the menu bar, then Settings….
- Open License.
- Click Enter Key…, then paste your key into Paste your key.
- Click Activate. The button says Checking… while TapNoise talks to Dodo. Pressing Return in the field also works.
When it works, the field closes. Active on this Mac shows the last four characters of your key, and every sound and tool unlocks.
Good to know
- Activation needs the internet. After that, TapNoise checks the key about every three days and works offline for a while. See license says connect to the internet.
- One key works on up to two Macs at a time. To use it on a new Mac, move the license.
- The key is kept in your Mac’s Keychain, not in a file.
- Keep the key private. Don’t post it in a public message or a screenshot.
If it doesn’t work
TapNoise shows the reason under the field. The common ones:
- That key wasn’t found. Copy the key again from your receipt email.
- That key is for a different app, not TapNoise. Check you have the TapNoise receipt.
- This key is already on as many Macs as it allows. Remove it from one Mac, or see lost access to a Mac.
- Couldn’t reach the license server. Check your connection and try again.
