TapNoise is not in Input Monitoring

TapNoise isn't listed under Input Monitoring? Click Open Input Monitoring in the menu so macOS adds it, switch it on, and open the copy in Applications.

Updated

TapNoise needs its own switch in Input Monitoring before it can hear your keys. If it doesn’t appear in the list, ask macOS to add it.

Ask macOS to add it

  1. Click the keycap in the menu bar, then Open Input Monitoring. You can also use Settings › General, under Permission, and click Open Settings.
  2. TapNoise asks macOS to add it. Then System Settings › Privacy & Security › Input Monitoring opens.
  3. Switch on TapNoise.

TapNoise restarts itself once it’s switched on. That’s expected.

Check you’re using the right copy

macOS lists each copy of an app separately. The one that appears is the copy that asked for the permission. Open TapNoise from Applications, not from the disk image, and use that copy for the steps above.

Still missing?

Quit TapNoise, open it from Applications, and try the steps again. If it still isn’t listed, contact support with your macOS version.
