Agent says moved? Repair its TapNoise hook

If Settings › Agents says an agent's hook is out of date or moved, click Repair. This happens after you move TapNoise.app or connect from an older copy.

Updated

Settings › Agents can say the hook for an agent is out of date. The message reads: Its hook is out of date: another copy of TapNoise, or an older version. Repair to use this copy.

Why it happens

Each agent’s hook points at the copy of TapNoise you connected from. If you moved TapNoise.app, or connected an agent from the disk image before you copied the app to Applications, the hook points somewhere else.

Repair it

  1. Open the copy of TapNoise you want to use, from Applications.
  2. Open Settings › Agents.
  3. Click Repair next to the agent. It says now uses this copy of TapNoise.
  4. Restart any agent that’s running.

Repair rewrites TapNoise’s own entries only. The rest of the agent’s settings file is left alone.

If Repair doesn’t clear it

Click Remove next to the agent, then Connect again. This takes TapNoise’s entries out and adds them back for this copy.
