License says connect to the internet: fix it

TapNoise checks your license with Dodo about every three days. It keeps working offline for up to 30 days after the last check, then asks you to connect.

Updated

What the message means

In Settings › License, under Active on this Mac, you may see Connect to the internet to check your license. TapNoise hasn’t had a confirmed check from Dodo for 30 days. The same message appears if the date on your Mac is set in the future.

How to fix it

  1. Connect your Mac to the internet.
  2. Quit TapNoise from the menu, then open it again. It checks the key with Dodo each time it launches.
  3. If Dodo confirms the key, the message goes away.

How the offline check works

  • TapNoise checks the key when it launches, and about every three days after that.
  • Between checks you don’t need the internet. TapNoise keeps working for up to 30 days after the last check that Dodo confirmed.
  • After 30 days without a confirmed check, the Mac is locked until a check gets through.
  • A refunded key stops working at its next check.
