How to check for a new TapNoise update

TapNoise looks for a newer version about once a day. When one is out, the menu shows Download TapNoise with its version. Here is how to get it.

Updated

TapNoise has no Check for Updates button. It looks for a newer version by itself, about once a day, and keeps the answer until the next check.

When an update is out

When a newer version is available, the menu shows Download TapNoise with its version number, above Settings…. Click it to open the download in your browser.

Install the update

  1. Open the download and drag TapNoise into Applications, replacing the older copy.
  2. Open TapNoise from Applications. macOS may ask you to confirm once more. See Open Anyway.
  3. If an agent now says it has moved, click Repair in Settings › Agents. See repair an agent that says moved.

Your license covers every update, so you don’t need a new key.

If the menu doesn’t show Download TapNoise, TapNoise hasn’t seen a newer version yet. It checks again about a day later, and only while it’s online.
