How Tappy's levels, hats and typing streaks work

Understand local XP, the daily streak threshold and hat selection in TapNoise, while keeping playful progression separate from a target for your workday.

Tappy’s levels and hats are playful progression based on local activity. They do not evaluate the quality of what you wrote or make a high typing count a requirement for a good day.

XP and levels

TapNoise currently awards one XP per tap and ten per slap. Later levels require more total XP than earlier ones. Sensor-based slap reactions need compatible hardware; do not hit the laptop to chase points.

Six hats unlock through progression. Open Settings › Stats and use Wear it or Take it off for a hat you have unlocked.

Daily streaks

The current daily streak threshold is 500 key presses. Reaching it on consecutive days keeps the streak going. That is an app convention, not an evidence-based productivity or health target.

A day spent reading, designing or thinking can have a low count and still be valuable. Do not type filler or delay a break just to preserve the number.

Where the progress lives

Progression and daily activity are stored on the Mac as documented in the local-data guide. Do not assume a new computer automatically has the same history simply because you activate the same license key.

For a shareable summary, see the weekly card. For interpreting counts responsibly, typing speed pressure explains why activity feedback should remain optional context.
