How to keep coding-agent alerts quiet during a meeting

Check TapNoise's microphone-based quiet mode, keep a visible way to return to the agent and test the actual headset and recording setup before a call.

If you work with an agent during meetings, decide which cues should remain audible. TapNoise’s Quiet during calls pauses its playback while a microphone is active, including its ordinary agent audio.

Test the real call setup

Start the meeting app’s test mode or a private test call, preview a cue and inspect TapNoise’s status. Test the microphone and output devices you intend to use, not a different pair of speakers.

A calendar event alone does not activate the setting. TapNoise reacts to microphone activity, so a recorder or Dictation can also make it quiet outside a meeting.

Keep a visible return path

Leave the agent accessible and use Tappy’s reactions or the agent’s own interface as another signal. If audio is paused, absence of a chime does not mean the agent is still working.

When you return, inspect the actual result. A permission request still needs review even if it arrived while you were concentrating on the call.

Recheck after the meeting

Close apps that no longer need the microphone. If sounds stay paused, inspect the microphone indicator and quiet-mode diagnosis.

For recordings, check direct system-audio capture separately from microphone pickup. Muting a meeting and silencing an app are different controls, so verify the recorded result before sharing a demo.
